REQUIRE HELP?

I have been involved in Family History research  since I arrived in the UK over 30 years ago and am particularly interested in the reasons 'why' and 'how' ancestors emigrated and the journeys they took.

From examples in My Story section, you will see how I uncovered my ancestors’ roots and followed their routes to new destinations and new lives. My ancestors came from Scotland, Orkney Isles, England and Northern Ireland and primarily journeyed to New Zealand in the 19th and 20th centuries.

I began researching and writing factual stories of interesting ancestors but I now also enjoy writing semi - fictional accounts which inspire the imagination and add the small details often not possible with non fiction to bring a story to life.

Discovering the journeys and stories of your ancestors takes:

Patience, detailed on line research, cross referencing records, lateral thinking when road blocks are hit, building a time-line, telling their Story. Visiting the places ancestors came from, for local information and scene setting is also invaluable.

If I can help you with any of the above or you have a specialised request, as I live in the UK, then please contact me.
